Podravka at the Strawberry and Pancake Festival in Zagreb

The festival season is in full swing, and one of the sweetest events these days is the Strawberry and Pancake Fest at Europski trg in Zagreb. From April 30 to May 17, visitors can enjoy the creativity of individuals who combine delicious pancakes with the spring season’s fruit – strawberries.

Sweet and fruity at Podravka stalls 

At the Lino Lada stall, pancakes are made that combine proven flavors and simple preparation, ideal for peak times when orders come in rapidly. The well-known Lino Lada flavors: duo, milk, gold, gold creamy, and coconut, are paired with crispy Lino pillows and fresh strawberries.

Here, classic French pancakes (crepes) are made in a thin variant, and in addition to filled ones, plain baked pancakes can also be purchased. 

Emperor’s Crumble and Fruit Spreads 

At the second stall – Kajzeršmarn – the emperor’s crumble is the star, a true comfort food classic. We bake it in cast iron pans to retain moisture inside while achieving a light crispness outside, just the way both guests and kitchen professionals love it. 

The sauces and toppings change the character of each plate. From fruit spreads made from strawberries, rosehip, apricots, and forest fruits to plum jam, and even richer variants with pieces of fruit for those seeking a fuller, more decadent dessert.
